Summer in Point Roberts, Washington is filled with community activities and moments to make you say WOW! In this month’s guide, we’ve included upcoming events to add to your calendar. Make sure to note the July 4th weekend activities for family fun on the Point! 

Point Roberts Library Programs

Summer Pleasure Reading: Saturday, July 1, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m. This year’s summer theme is TREES. Kids and teens receive a free book and can add leaves showing what they’ve read to the Point Roberts Library Tree throughout the summer. 

Make it – Sun Catchers: Wednesday, July 5, 1–2 p.m. For kids in grades K-5, enjoy making a magical sun catcher to remember your summer in Point Roberts. All supplies provided.

Storytime: Wednesdays, 10:30–11 a.m. For ages 2-6, this open program includes stories and music to help them learn while having fun. 

Special Events 

Lighthouse Marine Park Rededication Ceremony: Saturday, June 17, 11 a.m. Lighthouse Park is turning 50! Local and special guest speakers will share the history of the park over the past half century of this beautiful space being open for public use. 

Musical Concert (Trinity Church): Sunday, July 2 ( Time to be announced). A special musical performance with Scott Baird on guitar and Scott Hackleman on Sitar. Learn more here.

July 4th in Point Roberts: A day like no other! Start off with a Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center, then enjoy the Independence Day Parade, move onto the Classic Car Show and the Point Roberts Firefighters BBQ, and end the day with an awe-inspiring fireworks display. Learn more here

Free Kids Summer Camp: Monday-Friday, July 10th-July 28th. For kids 6-12, the 2023 Kids Camp, sponsored by the Point Roberts Park District, is the perfect activity for making friends, learning about nature, and having an authentic Point Roberts experience. Learn more here.

Ongoing Community Events 

Your Local Small Market (Located in the Point Roberts Community Center): Saturdays, 10 a.m.– 2 p.m. Local artists, bakers, jewelry makers, soap and lotion makers, and so many more share their wares at this growing market. 

Friday Market (Located on the west side of the Point Roberts Marina): Fridays, 4–7 p.m. Local farmers and vendors sell homemade, homegrown and home baked goods. 

The Commons (Located in the back room at the Point Roberts Community Center): Saturdays,12–2:30 p.m. Enjoy exploring a wide-array of books and learning from special guests sharing their knowledge on diverse topics.
